Spider is my totem animal - a symbol of creative, feminine power. But guess what? Spiders scare the living hell out of me. They visit me in my lucid dreams and my body fills with adrenaline and I panic. Thing is, they won't go away, persistently healing me...asking me to face the fear of myself.

The past year I've changed a lot, transformed a bit like a butterfly. I was depressed in March, having panic attacks, and feeling disconnected. And now here I am soaring like a butterfly. Donnas breathwork helped me grow and it helped me to feel courageous enough to start a business. Do retreats. Care for yourself. So here I am- going to be doing retreats myself. Today: Embodied Self-Care Rules and Ritual Bathing
Daily ritual self-care practice will change your life. When I am struggling, or when I encounter a client or friend with perpetual challenges, patterns or illness, I know to ask: how's the self-care?
Here are our guiding principles for these weeks of supported ritual self-care:
1. Self-care is non-negotiable. We commit to practicing every day.
2. Self-care comes first. We take care of ourselves before we take care of anyone else.
3. We keep a record of our self-care. A journal, a photo diary. This is a really important step. We always do more than we think and a record proves our process.
The last self-care rule isn't a rule so much as a definition:
Any activity that is nourishing and loving is self-care, and becomes more powerful by the addition of ritual intention. Lighting my altar candle before I write in the morning lets me know something special is happening. I'm psychologically transported to that liminal space beyond the common. And that's where magic happens...even in the simplest, most everyday tasks.
This week we are focusing on embodied self-care, honoring the foundation of our living, building strength, wellness and self-love into our relationship with our physical being. Each day I'll offer a suggestion for a self-care practice or ceremony to love yourself up.
If there is a practice you feel particularly attuned to, I suggest repeating it daily. If you find yourself stretched for time, or feeling irritated by the call to practice daily, consider revisiting the preparation idea of ritualizing some aspect of your daily routine.
Remember, there is no one way, there is only the way. Daily practice for the purposes of these weeks is just ten minutes. What is your practice today?

Some, more than others, but those experiences can change us in many ways, and not of all of those ways are better ways to be. Some of those experiences that we have faced that make us loose ourselves and can make us end up in places that we don't want to me, or they can make us into the person we need and want to be, not only for ourselves but for our families
Those times are the hardest we will ever face, and we will all change because of them, for better, or for worse. I can say at the other side of things that i have been left emotionally battered, confused, depressed and lost, and still here i am trying to find myself, and trying to discover who i am, and the person i want to become. It hasn't been easy. I have more than enough of days where i feel like dying is my only option, I've had too many times where i have been on the edge of suicide, days where i have tried to take my life, where i have harmed myself and caused permanent damage to my body and my self esteem. I've made bad decisions in the heat of a moment, which has left me with nothing but a pile of guilt and self hatred. I wake up every day still and do nothing but hate on myself and the person i have become, which is something that i can not help, no matter how many therapy sessions I've had, i still can't change my self hating mind-set. But, i can honestly say, that i have made it out of the even darker times than now, i have made it out of them, alive, battered but alive. I am still not happy with myself, but now i know that suicide isn't the answer, although back then, it was the only option,
this is my story, of how i overcame all of those bad times and how i have changed to the person i am today, its a long story, but .. I'm not afraid of the past anymore.
