What you see on the left is a very self conscious version of me, not daring to take my top off in front of ANYONE and making sure the gym was literally empty before taking a photo
My diet was horrendous, my workouts had no order or structure and I didn't know how to target my muscles properly
However on the right was me today, happily taking off my top not caring who was in the gym, my confidence since starting to take care of my body has never been any higher, nothing feels the same as having self confidence, I don't care what you say, money can't buy it
I would never think a few years ago, a few months ago actually, that I'd be the way I am now, physically and mentally, I am proud of how far I have come and will continue to improve💪🏋

Fitdoc24Fitdoc242017-10-20Why do you work out? For me it started with wanting to lose weight loss in med school. It became a habit after torturing myself with workouts for 4 long months. It's been a long and very difficult journey since. But now I exercise for entirely different reasons. 1 stress relief 2 more energy in residency 3 to be around other normal people out of the hospital 4 to feel good. Whatever your reasons are realize this is a fluid process and just as your body changes your reasons change. At my highest weight I was 170lbs, I've been as low as 10 lbs, back up to about 125lbs and back down to 115ish. Your goals change, your reasons changes, you change. Embrace it.
