Everyone has a vice, an enveloping hobby that in good or bad times solves all problems, at least for a moment. It's been 7 years since I started working out and half of that has been spent wasting time and effort on techniques and plans that just didn't work. I guess I shouldn't same time "wasted" rather time spent learning. Because now that I've put the time in, paid my dues, I can at least know that I am experienced in what I love. Making a career out of it would seem like the best option but in time, my effort and abilities will bring that to fruition. I still have so much to learn in and out of the gym, which is why my ears and mind are always open to those that came before me. That's the problem I see now with the people around me. Somewhere down the line the theory of "you knowing what's best for yourself", was taken too literally. People have stopped looking up to the people that can teach us and started looking down, focusing solely on their own steps, not knowing if they are in the right direction or not. We could all save time by learning from someone above us. And if you think there is no one above you, drop the ego, and realize there is ALWAYS someone bigger and better than you.
