Cricket MentoringCricket Mentoring2017-10-19This is a fantastic exercise that all cricketers should be doing in their strength and conditioning routines. It will help you bowl faster, spin the ball further, hit the ball harder/ cleaner and field / throw so much better. It’s a simple exercise but I see it performed poorly all the time. We have this exercise in all our S & C programs that we offer because we know how beneficial it is. Cricket MentoringCricket Mentoring2017-10-18"Repetition is the key to learning"
Why try to figure everything out if someone's already done it? We love learning from and modeling the success of others to fast- track our development. John Wooden is regarded as one of the best sports and life coaches of all time and here it shows his method of teaching his athletes. Learning a new skill or improving a current skill is about making small improvements over and over again - every day. Nobody wakes up one day with talent. Everyone who achieves great things in life has worked very hard to get there and be willing to chip away at their craft. Are you putting in the work and doing the repetitions necessary to master your skill? https://scontent.cdninstagram.com/t51.2885-15/e35/22580142_1344904872302744_7820548603159511040_n.jpg2017-10-18
http://instatbt.com/Place/meulemans-cricket-centre/369891250Meulemans Cricket CentreAre you training out of your comfort zone?? As a player it's up to you to be in charge of your training/ practice and making sure you're pushing what's currently comfortable. This is a snippet of a tough session that ryanofox did where scolls5 was flicking lots of short balls. Nobody likes the ball wizzing around their face but as a batter you have to practice it to be comfortable in a match against the short ball. We see a lot of young players who are decent on the front foot but struggle on their back foot. If you really want to get better, you need to be regularly getting out of your comfort zone.
Cricket MentoringCricket Mentoring2017-10-17FORWARD DEFENCE TUTORIAL. Check out this snippet from one of the videos in our Batting Basics program. We created this program as there are so many players that are making fundamental errors in their game. These videos will teach you the fundamentals of every shot and why they are important.
When we coach players we always get them to a level of understanding of WHY they made a mistake. Once they know WHY something happened they can fix it. This program will help you understand what's causing your mistakes so that YOU can fix your own errors and be your own coach 👊🏻 Even if you have a batting coach, you may be making some fundamental errors that are causing you to not execute a shot(s) as well and with as much power as you could. From our experience coaches usually just tell you the end result of a mistake 'you hit it too early' or 'went across the line' without telling you exactly how to fix it or what the trigger was that caused the end mistake.
For a small investment in yourself (just $39 Aussie) you can get access to our knowledge of technique for a fraction of the price of a 1-1 lesson. PLUS you can access the videos from your phone, anywhere, any time!
Click on the link in our bio to get access to the videos and learn the technique and drills to improve your batting right now!
P.S. As you can see in this video, we practice what we preach. Our head mentor scolls5 practices exactly what we teach you! [Music created and produced by mc_fyrewyire ] https://scontent.cdninstagram.com/t51.2885-15/e15/22500062_807305339431487_5381256441753501696_n.jpg2017-10-17
Cricket MentoringCricket Mentoring2017-10-16WINS: Keep an eye out for Rohit Rayudu. rohit_111 came to us 6 months ago with a goal of playing in this years Ranji Trophy side for Hyderabad. He was an exceptionally talented player but realised he needed to improve his mindset and belief so he did several one on one video coaching calls plus loads of back and forth messaging with simonkeen1 Rohit has worked extremely hard on his mindset and belief in this time and is now so close to his dream becoming a reality - unfortunately the last two Ranji Trophy games have been washed out ⛈🌨 Early in the season Rohit played a big part in his “A” side win a trophy they haven’t won in 27 years. Although our mentor Simon lives in Australia and Rohit lives in India they have created an incredible bond and friendship which has really helped Rohit’s game improve and Rohit knows he always has Simon to turn to and chat about his game. We are extremely excited to watch Rohit’s game grow & expand and watch him fulfil his full potential. Congratulations Rohit.. you have created some fantastic habits and are achieving great things. Keep going towards your dream.

Cricket MentoringCricket Mentoring2017-10-10WINS: Well done to Aussie U19 & Penrith CC 1st Grade opening batsman Ryan Hackney who scored a brilliant 107 (off 62 balls) In the Sydney Under 21 competition on the weekend.
Ryan is a graduate of the PEAK PERFORMANCE PROGRAM - our online mental conditioning program (link in our bio) that we’ve designed to help aspiring cricketers from all over the world form a winning mindset that’s needed to perform consistently at their best. Here’s how it's helped Ryan: "The program has helped me appreciate and understand the significance of the mental side of the game and has enabled me to use these skills successfully in a match situation.” Simon Keen, our mentor and a former Australian under 19 captain knows exactly where Ryan is in his career and knows what it’ll take for him to make it to International level or not quite be good enough. “Personally, I didn't have full belief in myself when I was younger. It ultimately cost me from going on the be as successful as I could have been...As an underage representative player it’s a strong belief and a clear vision towards your goal will get you to where you want to be. Teenage cricketers will face many distractions and have their belief in themselves tested everyday.” Ryan obviously has the physical skills to succeed and through understanding and improving his mindset (which the Peak Performance Program has kick started) along with a hunger to keep improving, we have no doubt he’s got everything it takes to make it to the highest level. https://scontent.cdninstagram.com/t51.2885-15/e15/22430232_134449510635047_4077490712139005952_n.jpg2017-10-10

http://instatbt.com/Place/toowoon-bay-new-south-wales/476890961Toowoon Bay, New South WalesKeys to PEAK PERFORMANCE Celebrate your wins / more, importantly celebrate the wins of your team mates as well. This does so much for your sub conscious mind and your belief systems. If you celebrate the success of your team mates it puts you in a better mood and you vibrate at a higher frequency allowing good things to happen to you. Celebrating your own success means your sub conscious mind will do whatever it takes to keep them happening. Quite often we are the opposite, we are hard on ourselves and do not take the time to enjoy our success which makes it very hard for us to continue to be successful. They say it takes 10,000 repetitions of a skill to ingrain it into muscle memory but you can cut those repetitions down significantly by feeling good and celebrating when you do it right. The opposite is also true, you have to do significantly more if you are in a negative mood whilst training.

http://instatbt.com/Place/toowoon-bay-new-south-wales/476890961Toowoon Bay, New South WalesIn this video simonkeen1 is demonstrating all types of the sweep shots.
Using all the varieties of the sweep shot is a great way to manipulate the field and hit 360 degrees of the field making it very hard for a spinner to bowl to you and keep you from scoring.
There are some fundamentals to playing each type of sweep shot. 💥head positioning 💥bat swing
It's very important as a batsman that you know how to play all types of the sweep shot. It's also very important to have the right mindset, confidence and strategy to play them in games.
We teach these shots in our 🏏How to play Spin Masterclass Program.
