Ryan ScottRyan Scott2017-12-15Every since visiting the Bonneville Salt Flats for the first time ten years ago I’ve been fascinated with man’s quest for ultimate speed (I highly recommend reading "Speed Duel: The Inside Story of the Land Speed Record in the Sixties" by Samuel Hawley).
Reading up on the bloodhound_ssc in the latest article of Racecar Engineering and came across a few interesting facts that I can’t quite wrap my brain around:
1) to achieve 1000mph the wheels need to make 170 revolutions per SECOND
2) the rocket will require over 9 gallons of high test peroxide (not the stuff in your medicine cabinet) per SECOND.
Two bits of info that blow my little mind.
Humans can achieve amazing things when they want to. 📷 stefan.marjoram https://scontent.cdninstagram.com/t51.2885-15/e35/25012395_783451525172381_8118823610736443392_n.jpg2017-12-15
