Krystal WoodsKrystal Woods2017-12-12Good morning!!☀️ Mike stayed home from work today and took Wiggles to our parent child class, so I actually got to workout in peace & quiet for once!! It was so much easier🤣. Anyway as I mentioned before, I am gearing up to start a brand new 80 day fitness & nutrition program in January. One that will require serious commitment and FOCUS for the entire 80 days (😬gulp). Am I scared to commit? Yeah!! But let me get clear on something: following a specific nutrition and workout program the way it was designed does NOT require me to deprive myself, diet, or be overall miserable😫. Instead, I'll be focusing on the POSITIVES that will come from completing this program: I'll be nourishing my body with foods that help it function better and give me more energy, clarity, and better digestion. I'll be challenging my body with daily workouts that will undoubtedly change my physique, but more importantly will change my MINDSET. Completing something even when you want to quit is empowering and energizing⚡️...even though it's not always fun in the moment. So yes it's scary to commit to something like this, especially in the midst of life's chaos. But rather than say that I simply CAN'T focus on something else or add another thing to my plate, I am choosing to get laser focused on my health and mindset for 80 days because I know that when I do that, I am SO. Much. Better in all other areas of my life. But like I said, I can't do it alone!! Sometimes it's easy to convince yourself that you're justified in skipping a workout. The gym is too far, I've had a busy week at work, it's too cold out...
If you're making these excuses a lot then you have to find a way to make working out more convenient for yourself. I really don't fancy the 15 minute walk to the gym and I don't want to waste my evening on it. So I'll save the time with a home workout! If you're considering skipping your workout this evening don't! You can even do the one I've planned for myself 😉
Set a timer for 25 minutes and get through this circuit as many times as you can. I'm warning you that your legs are going to burn 😉
1. Squat jumps (x12)
2. Jump lunges (x20)
3. Sumo squat (x15)
4. High knees (x20 per side)
5. Curtesy lunge (x10 per side)
6. Burpees (12)
7. Tuck jumps (10)
8. Mountain climbers (x15 per side)

---------------------- lot of people say " I don't want my legs to get big" " I just want a big bum" " muscly legs aren't nice" and to be quite honest that was ME at the start of my fitness journey! I hated the fact of lifting weights and the thought of my slim legs getting bigger and more muscly! The thing is, I wanted a bum... and to get a booty I KNEW I had to grow some muscle around my GLUTES to compensate and help with the growth! Remember your legs are the main building blocks connected to your glutes and the growing starts from all over.... don't get me wrong you can isolate the GLUTES which is what I do now, but to initially start you need to be lifting some weight to gain that predominant muscle underneath!! ------------------------------ I started to lift heavy , squatting, leg presses, heavy deadlifts and so on, all the compound movements VITAL 🔑 for growing that 🍑! Yes my legs started to grow and instead of hating them, I began to appreciate the journey and the muscle I had started to develop in my body and my legs. STRONG LEGS ➡️ STRONG BOOTY ➡️ STRONG ESTEEM ✌🏽
