marcierohrmarcierohr2018-03-17So. I am brushing up on my portrait skills. This is Khali Sweeney, who started a non-profit boxing club for over 140 children in Detroit. My aim is to document the face of kindness, no so much accuracy, but the shine in the eyes and the light on the face of someone whose life is truly one of kindness, bravery, and integrity. Do you have a hero? Send a write up and a photo to friendsofbandipur gmail.com. I am waiting for the day when a large collection of faces will shine back at me and remind me what it means to be brave and to live with honour. I am the first to admit I have a lot to learn in this. I try to do what is right but my attitude is not always right. I'm too busy whining about what a life of integrity truly costs... I'm not always up for it. I need to see the faces of those who have taken the high road in their own life journey. I need to soak up all that bravery. This collection will help a small group of us at the friendsofbandipur collective tell others about our journey and how we need some serious hero power to help us out for a project. .

Here is the British Irish Guards Regiment with their mascot Domhnall: the Irish Wolfhound. The Irish have been integral part in the British Army since its foundation. Over the major conflicts that Britain has taken part in from 1700-2018 there have been 8 Irish Regiments such as the 18th and the Irish Guards Regiment in 1900. However, in every British Regiment the Irish composed on average 20% of every regiment. The Irish were always an integral part of the British Army serving the Empire and King/Queen in conflicts across the globe. The Irish though, have served in the Spanish, French, and Canadian Army. Nonetheless, outside the British Army, the greatest contribution of the Irish is in the American Military. During the Civil War tens of thousands of newly arrived Irish immigrants formed several Irish American Regiments to serve their new country in one of its most crucial times. Irish American Regiments such as the 69th NY, 63rd NY, and 88th NY(numbered after the 88th Irish Connaught Rangers in the British Army) would form the famed Irish Brigade that fought valiantly in every major battle the Army of the Potomac took part in during the war. The Irish have made an astounding contribution to military history while creating an amazing reputation full of honor, bravery, and courage.

Between 9-10 I woke up or maybe I was dreaming but I remember looking at the time.. . - I saw her in the passage way of our home but it was the younger version of her, she was walking towards a bright light and I remember thinking nan where are you going but for some reason couldn't move but she was happy, almost like skipping..I woke up officially and continued with my day.. Just after 1pm I got the news that my nan passed away AT 10.10 AM. . -
So weird never happened before and didn't make sense at the time. However I'm so comforted GOD KNOWS this is making it easier for me, she had to say goodbye to her "keeeeeeel" COULDN'T GO WITHOUT CHECKING ON ME,TO MAKE SURE I WAS ALRIGHT... Thanks for that Nanny.
