5905135905132018-04-06Day 72 • His one day in the open crib was fun while it lasted. He continued to lose weight and fell under the weight requirement for an open crib, so he is back in an isolette. They made considerable revisions to his feedings and stopped his diuretic to retain some fluid. Over a few days he’s packed on some ounces and is now at 4 pounds (probably water weight). We don’t even know if we should be excited or not but I suppose we’ll take it. 🤷🏼♀️ We’re a little jaded when it comes to milestones because every single time he reaches them something pulls him back and they tell us (yet again) he needs to grow more. 🙄 But, this is the reality of being born premature from severe IUGR. His growth is 8-10 weeks behind on top of being a slow grower. He is currently in the (negative) -4th percentile based on his age, weight, and length. Everything has and always will be on Owen’s terms. And we’re okay with that. 💙 https://scontent-amt2-1.cdninstagram.com/vp/24f68485d4bfca992aeed6aa77e2343c/5B9A191F/t51.2885-15/e35/29717042_159106668096522_1336189060502257664_n.jpg2018-04-06

397981539798152018-01-25||DAY 81: 34 WEEKS||
HEY BOY HEY! So this happened last night. Baby boy transferred to an open crib. 🙌🙌🙌 You remember my post from last week? We were giving him a trial run and he passed! 🎉🎉🎉 Also celebrating 34 weeks!!! 22 weeks ➡️ 34 weeks. Crazy!! I'm so proud of this kid. He's going to do great things. .
1. Tommy is still intubated. Not sure when he'll get to move to cpap. I've been super anxious about it but totally putting it in God's hands. It is out of my control. So I ask that you pray Tommy just keeps getting stronger and his lungs mature more and that he'll be able to move to cpap soon and not fail. That it would be the perfect time and he'll respond to it.
2. Tommy is officially 1800 grams which is one of the requirements to remove his broviac line. There is risk of infection the longer they keep it in but they havent wanted to remove it till after he hit 1800 grams. And every couple of weeks he seems to get some kind of infection or bacteria so that's when he needs that central line. Please pray that God gives the doctors wisdom in when to remove the broviac. I would love for him to no longer have any lines but I also dont want to jeopardize his health if something might happen. It's really confusing/conflicting for me. So pray I also stop worrying about it. Driving myself crazy over these two things. :) Thank you! 🖤🖤🖤
